Tortugranja, located on the island’s small peninsula of Sac Bajo in the south of Isla Mujeres, is a project designed to protect turtles here in the Caribbean. Their team works hard to rescue eggs off the public beaches and keep them safe until the hatchlings are ready to be released into the ocean. They also look after rescued turtles and other marine life. While visiting Isla Mujeres members of the public can look around their aquarium, feed some of the rescued turtles, and view their larger adult turtles, nurse sharks, and rays that they have under the dock.
