X'CATIK X’catik Seafood and Grill, which opened in September 2020 is a great seafood restaurant in downtown Isla Mujeres. With fast and good service, as well as delicious food, you can find X’catik in the old location of Steaks and Kegs, formally Bistro Francais, on the corner of Avenida Hidalgo and Avenida Matamoros. X’catik, named after a type of chili native to the Yucatan region of Mexico, has some wonderful options available on its menu, with many seafood dishes available so that you can get a real taste of the Caribbean, including octopus, tuna, salmon, whole fish, ceviche, tacos and more. TAQUERIA YURI Open early for breakfast tacos and tortas (sandwiches) ... Taqueria Yuri is the place to go for a delicious start to the day! A popular spot amongst locals, you will see many people eating here before they go off to work. Open from 7AM – 1PM, located opposite Chedraui, Isla Mujeres’ biggest supermarket in the middle of the island, Taqueria Yuri has great prices and flavors. In 2023 they added a second location in downtown Isla Mujeres, close to the Ultramar ferry terminal, next to Isla Barbershop, behind Rentadora Joaquin, which means you can grab something delicious to eat before you pick up your golf cart and head out to explore, or some last tacos before you leave the island. They have been serving food to islanders and visitors since 1991 in different locations on Isla Mujeres! TAQUERIA EL CACHIRUL The owners of Taqueria El Cachirul moved location, and changed their business. You can find El Mismo Sabor in front of El Trompo Loco in La Gloria. A local's favorite hangout, Taqueria El Cachirul, is located in the mid-island colonia of La Gloria and is one of the cheapest taquerias on Isla Mujeres. Taqueria El Cachirul has great value tacos, queso fundido (molten cheese served with tortillas - very yummy!), tortas, and so much more. With any order, you'll be able to help yourself to the salsa and sides bar and fill up your plate. They also serve a selection of desserts, which change daily, and delicious licuados (smoothies). They have plenty of indoor tables to eat in or take your order to-go and enjoy it sitting on the lagoon opposite this restaurant.
