In March of this year, 2023, members of the Taste of Isla team enjoyed a wonderful culinary experience at Marina Bartolome, when the beautiful seaside restaurant hosted its first Isla Sunset & Wine Festival, a gastronomic festival, with nine chefs from the Riviera Maya and the Yucatan, including Marina Bartolome’s resident chef, all who were participating and showing off some delicious seafood treats. Their unique dishes, created with sustainable products included crab gorditas, Malaysian prawn with a coconut and mezcal foam, giant oysters with lionfish, Caribbean curry over island coconut (marinated and grilled seafood served in a coconut), trout gravlax, grilled totoaba, and kampachi tostada. These chefs were accompanied by Sommelier Jose Carlos Palacios, Riviera Wines & Spirits, and Cerveza Cancun, pairing with Mexican wines and craft beer. The first event was buzzing with people enjoying the delicious tasting menu on offer from each of the chefs, and the wine that was paired with it, the event was a huge success, raising money for DIF, and also raising awareness about responsible consumption, it was sponsored by the project Pesca con Futura.

The upcoming event is hoped the have the same success as the last, and here at Taste of Isla we are so excited for the next tasting journey, come and join us on this tasting experience, and enjoy the flavors and culture of Mexico!
